How to Clear Your Browser Cache (Desktop & Mobile)

If you are experiencing unexpected behavior—such as pages failing to load, buttons not responding, outdated information displaying, or login and checkout errors—clearing your browser’s cache and cookies is often the fastest way to resolve the issue.

Why Clear Your Cache?

To help web pages load faster, your browser saves pieces of website data (such as images, scripts, and stylesheets) in temporary storage known as the cache.

When a website updates its design or functionality, your browser may still attempt to load the older, cached version. This conflict can cause visual glitches, stuck pages, or broken features. Clearing the cache forces your browser to download the most up-to-date files directly from the server.

Note: Clearing cookies will sign you out of most websites. If you only want to fix page loading or styling issues, you can choose to clear only Cached images and files while keeping cookies unchecked.

Quick Fix: Perform a "Hard Refresh" (Desktop Only)

Before clearing your entire cache history, try a hard refresh. This reloads the current page without using cached files:

  • Windows / Linux: Press Ctrl  + F5  (or hold Ctrl  and click the Reload button)
  • Mac (Chrome / Firefox / Edge): Press Cmd  + Shift  + R
  • Mac (Safari): Hold Shift  and click the Reload button (or press Cmd  + Option  + E  followed by Cmd  + R )

Still Having Trouble?

If clearing your cache and cookies did not resolve the issue, try these additional troubleshooting steps:

  1. Test in a Private / Incognito Window: Open an incognito tab and navigate to the page. If the page works properly, a browser extension or add-on may be interfering.
  2. Disable Extensions: Temporarily disable ad blockers, script blockers, or password manager extensions to see if one of them is causing the conflict.
  3. Try an Alternate Browser: Open the page in another supported browser to determine whether the issue is browser-specific.
  4. Restart Your Device: Restarting clears lingering system-level temporary memory.
